C.S.P.L have been patrolling the 4 bridges in Limerick city for over 5 years.
Our main focus is to keep a look out for members of the public who we may see around the waters edge late at night, who look distressed or fearful.
We approach them and just simply ask "Are you ok".
We are all volunteers from all walks of life and and our aim is to try and curtail the suicide rate in the limerick area.
Our Volunteers are highly trained to deal with different types of Interventions that may be nessasary . We are there to listen and offer advice and support.
Our mission is to help people at the river at night when they may be feeling very low, to offer a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen. If we can send that person home safely then it is a job well done. We aim to raise Suicide awareness through our social media channels and by doing so we hope to beak the stigma surrounding Suicide by letting people know it's ok to talk. We urge people to speak up and reach out!
All training and uniforms are provided. We provide throw bag training, first aid and defribillator training. The ASSIST training is also provided in conjunction with the HSE. We also provide bike handling and safety training .
